As the Director of Research and Business Development for QQ, Dr. Lexi Vollmer Rivera provides technical leadership oversight and strategic direction for research, monitoring, and evaluation (M&E) activities and the procurement of business opportunities. She grounds her work in respectful collaboration with stakeholders to ensure meaningful and actionable findings. Utilizing these skills, Dr. Vollmer Rivera has established quality assurance and evaluation procedures, led evaluations, and created relationships with community members and funders in the United States and internationally, such as the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Government Media Agency, United States Institute for Peace, Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, International Republican Institute, and Forest Stewardship Council Indigenous Foundation.

With a passion for learning from others, Dr. Vollmer Rivera specializes in working collaboratively with communities whose voices are often absent from mainstream research and policy conversations. She has conducted mixed-methods studies in more than 12 countries and led over 170 interviews and focus groups in both English and Spanish with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, international agencies, academic institutions, and community members.

Dr. Vollmer Rivera holds a doctoral degree in Spanish (Linguistics), a master’s degree in Spanish (Linguistics), and a graduate certificate in Computer Assisted Language Learning from Arizona State University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead and an SPSS Advanced Analytic Techniques professional certificate from the University of West Florida.
