Alexis A. Vollmer Rivera 

Alexis A. Vollmer Rivera holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Spanish Linguistics and a Graduate Certificate in Computer-Assisted Language Learning from Arizona State University. As a previous educator of Spanish at ASU and Research Assistant for the Civic Health Unit at the Center for the Future of Arizona, she brings experience collaborating with diverse individuals in educational, nonprofit, and social science contexts.

The overarching motivation of her work lies in connecting critical research to social justice and civic issues by means of respectful and collaborative community engagement. Her expertise in such research includes utilizing critical theories and frameworks to inform primarily qualitative methodologies. Vollmer Rivera has published scholarly articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, as well has presented papers and facilitated trainings at local, regional, and international conferences.
